Our Projects

Find the research programmes and field initiatives developed under the DIORAMAS umbrella and visit their websites.
Beginning with EVOKE on Kythera, each project explores how island landscapes hold stories of people, environment, memory, and resilience. Together, they connect archaeological research with community heritage, education, and public engagement.

As DIORAMAS grows, this page will showcase new collaborations, new landscapes, and new ways of using the past to imagine sustainable futures for Australia and the Mediterranean

EVOKE explores Vythoulas in northeast Kythera, the only known landscape on the island with evidence for occupation from the Neolithic period to the present. Through archaeology, landscape study, environmental analysis, archival work, and community engagement, it investigates how people managed water, land, settlement, and mobility over 5,000 years, using the past to inform Kythera’s future.
